Radon Testing

Radon is a leading cause of lung cancer, and one out of every fifteen U.S. homes have a Radon problem. The only way to know whether or not you are at risk is to test for it. Because of this risk in every home, the EPA and the Surgeon General recommend homeowner’s test for radon below the third floor.

According to Bob Stilwell of the state’s radiation control program at the Department of Health and Human Services, Radon occurs in unusually high levels in Maine and, “There are not many states equal to or higher than Maine,” he says.
