CURRENT

Let There Be Light International (LTBLI)

PARTNER LOGO2_1X1_edited.png

LTBLI is a registered non-profit organization based in the United States of America, dedicated to bringing clean energy to vulnerable, energy-poor communities in off-grid areas. The organization raises public awareness about energy poverty and, through its implementation partners, donates portable solar lights to vulnerable populations, including new mothers, orphans, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and students.

Since 2013, LTBLI has co-developed projects with us and funded several impactful projects in Uganda, such as Health Clinic Electrification, Safe Birth + Healthy Homes, the MODES Project, and Lights for Learning. We are extremely proud of this partnership, which has provided thousands of rural households with access to clean energy through our joint efforts.

Abroaderview:
Since 2008, Abroaderview has been recruiting volunteers for our programs in Uganda.

These volunteers have brought a wealth of skills and knowledge, which they have shared with our communities while offering voluntary services in healthcare, community development, child care and education, and community health education.

We are proud of this incredible partnership with Abroaderview.

With God's Little Ones (WGLOs)

with gods little ones logo_edited.png

Founded by the late Rudy Schaser (RIP), WGLOs was an organization dedicated to demonstrating the love of Jesus and renewing the lives of children. Through WGLO, six underprivileged children received school sponsorship, and the chicken farm was initiated and supported to enhance skills and income generation among youth and women. Low-income households of vulnerable individuals benefited from food pack donations shipped to Uganda, and startup chicken projects were supported for female-headed households.

WGLOs also contributed significantly to the community by constructing spring wells, supporting health centers, and contributing to the community resource center and volunteer house in Bulenga. This included the donation of a solar system, computers, cameras, hard drives for office use, rocket cook stoves, cooking pots, medical equipment, and folding chairs. Additionally, WGLOs secured the land title for the poultry farm, mobilized partial funds for the construction of KACCAD’s volunteer center, and supported the piggery project.

These generous contributions were instrumental in the growth and development of KACCAD as a small NGO start-up.

In 2015, a solar system, ultrasound scanner, microscope, and solar refrigerator were donated to Bbira Health Center. A Let There Be Light International grant funded by Atlantic Philanthropies provided pico solar lights to off-grid homesteaders in Wakiso and Gomba. This grant also enabled KACCAD to purchase office furniture, offer health insurance for its staff, and scale up the chicken farm project with an additional 815 chicks and feed until the chicks began laying eggs.

In 2016, Atlantic Philanthropies, coordinated by Dr. Ben Kerman through Let There Be Light International, funded the continuation of the KACCAD Health Insurance program, which benefits staff and teachers at the Faith Children Foundation orphanage and schools. They also purchased two batteries for the volunteer house/office and a solar pump for the chicken farm project.

In early 2017, another grant, supplemented by funds from the insurance company, was received to purchase a new vehicle after the organization's previous one was severely damaged in an accident.
